"A ceramic light which reflects part of Pioneering New Zealand History, our pastoral heritage as well as family connections. The words say Robb Doyleston 1871. Blacksmith John Robb immigrated from Dundee, Scotland in 1871, with his wife and large family settling in a vibrant rural community of Dolyeston not far from Christchurch. Gradually its importance has waned with nearby Leeston becoming the centre of the area. Nowadays it has little more than a few houses and no family connection apart from the War Memorial with several Robb`s engraved, with William Robb paying the ultimate sacrifice in WWI at Passchendaele. The last blacksmith in the family was my great grandfather also called John." Ronald Andreassend grandson of Ethel Robb
